How is it possible that I have been teaching here at KP for 24 years?! I am truly blessed by my students everyday and I hope they can say the same about me.

I am a graduate of King Philip and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UMASS Dartmouth and a Master in Education from Cambridge College.

I believe an education in the arts is incredibly important for EVERY student. In this day and age, being ‘smart’ has taken on a new meaning. It is no longer enough to just learn and memorize facts; information is readily available and just a mouse click away! One of the most important things a student can learn is what to do with facts and information, in other words, How to Think Like an Artist:

• The ability to take risks
• A capacity to learn from mistakes
• Looking at things more closely than most
• Seeing the ordinary and the potential for extraordinary
• Making connections between the world, themselves, and ideas
• Working towards full potential, never settling for mediocrity
• Embracing a challenge
• Generating new possibilities
